Privacy Policy — DockBar

Effective Date: March 19, 2026

DockBar is a simple productivity app. This policy explains clearly what data the app accesses, and what it does not.

What DockBar Does

DockBar places a persistent dock in your navigation bar so you can quickly access your pinned and recently used apps. It runs as an Accessibility Service to detect which app is in the foreground and adjust the dock’s visibility accordingly.

Data We Access

Installed Apps DockBar reads the list of apps installed on your device so you can pin them to your dock. This list never leaves your device.

App Usage DockBar uses Android’s Usage Stats permission to show your recently used apps in the dock. This data is read locally on your device and is never collected, stored externally, or shared.

Foreground App (Accessibility Service) DockBar uses an Accessibility Service to know which app is currently open. This is used only to hide the dock during fullscreen content and while the screen is locked. No content from other apps is read, recorded, or transmitted.

Data We Do Not Collect

DockBar does not:

100% Offline. Always.

DockBar has no internet permission and makes zero network calls. There are no servers, no cloud sync, no telemetry, and no analytics. Everything the app does happens entirely on your device. You can verify this yourself — DockBar does not request the INTERNET permission in its manifest.

Permissions Explained

Permission Why it’s needed
Accessibility Service Detect foreground app to manage dock visibility
Usage Stats Show recently used apps in the dock
Vibrate Haptic feedback on long-press interactions
Request Ignore Battery Optimizations Keep the dock service running reliably in the background
